Those issues include the status of Jerusalem, Palestinian refugees, Jewish settlements and the future borders of a Palestinian state.

 Catholic Information Service for Africa (Nairobi):Geneva — Human rights groups are demanding an investigation into the U.N.'s failure to prevent a raid from occurring where nearly 200 women were systematically gang raped by armed groups in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) late last month."These scandalous, outrageous atrocities should serve as a wakeup call for the international community," Marcel Stoessel, Oxfam International's country director in the DRC, told IPS in a phone interview.

 RFI-Campaigning for the second round of elections kicked off in Guinea on Sunday, with Cellou Dalein Diallo running against veteran opposition leader Alpha Condé. Diallo won over 40 per cent of the first-round ballot in June, which was marred by multiple accusations of fraud.Despite tensions over the election process, both candidates signed an agreement on Friday commiting themselves to a peaceful political campaign ahead of the vote on 19 September.

 By RFI:Basque separatist group Eta has declared a ceasefire, according to a video statement obtained by the media on Sunday. The group says it decided several months ago "not to carry out armed actions" in a bid to promote a democratic process.The seven-minute video shows three masked individuals in front of the group's banner and Basque flags.According to translated extracts released by the BBC, Eta insists that it acted "responsibly" by fighting its armed campaign for Basque independence.

 By RFI:A suspected suicide car bombing in north-west Pakistan has killed at least 14 people and wounded 34 Monday, police say.The explosion took place at a police station in the town of Lakki Marwat in the Khyber region south of Peshawar.There are reports that nine police officers are among the dead.

 Aljazeera-Far-right party launches online video that allows players to shoot down minarets and muezzins.A far-right party in Austria has sparked outrage by launching an online video game which allows players to shoot down minarets and muezzins calling for prayer.The game, called "Moschee Baba", or "Bye Bye Mosque", gives players 60 seconds to collect points by placing a target over cartoon mosques, minarets and Muslims and click a "Stop" sign.
