While congratulating President Kagame for securing another seven-year term, Washington said it “remain(s) concerned about a series of disturbing events prior to the election”.

 RFI-Police in Uganda have charged a total of 32 suspects over two bombings in Kampala on 11 July, the country's chief prosecutor said on Wednesday. The group, which includes 14 Ugandans, 10 Kenyans, six Somalis, one Rwandan and one Pakistani, is accused of killing 76 people in the twin attacks on a sports ground and an Ethiopian restaurant in the capital.The accused appeared before a Kampala magistrate court on Tuesday afternoon, amid tight security.

 By RFI:United Nations member states are on Thursday gathering for an emergency session to raise more financial aid for Pakistan amid criticism the global flood response has fallen far short. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called the special session of the General Assembly after visiting Pakistan to assess the disaster.About six million survivors are dependent on humanitarian assistance to survive, and are in desperate need of food, shelter and clean drinking water.Meanwhile concerns growing over potential outbreaks of cholera, typhoid and hepatitis.

 aljazeera-International aid is arriving too slowly for flood-ravaged Pakistan, and some aid organisations are beginning to run out of resources, the United Nations has said.Donors have sent $184 million, roughly 40 per cent of the $450 million requested by the UN. An additional $43 million has been pledged.But the UN says that is not enough: Aid agencies say they need millions more to provide shelters, blankets, clean water and other supplies to the 20 million people affected by the floods. The World Food Programme has warned that it needs more money to support Pakistan's food supplies, which are "under significant pressure".

 Aljazeera-The Afghan government has decided not to open more than 900 polling stations during next month's parliamentary election, citing security concerns.The closures will affect nearly 15 per cent of the country's 6,385 polling stations, and could disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters.Many of the affected locations are in southern and eastern Afghanistan, according to the country's election commission, which announced the decision at a press conference on Wednesday.

When case was mentioned, Lawyer Camara applied for the defence to be supplied with some of the exhibits and court report in the previous treason trial involving Ballo Kanteh alias Fabakary Kanteh & Co sometime in the year 1997.
